Join League members and AAUW members for our joint Holiday Brunch. Our speaker this year is Bria Zolman, Program Manager for the Guardian Scholars & TeenWorks@BSU programs at Ball State University.

A BSU alumna, Bria has been living in and raising her family in Muncie since completing her degree in 2004. With a background in education and diverse professional skills, Bria found her passion for working with young adults exiting foster care while employed with an Indiana Department of Child Services Older Youth Services (OYS) provider. The Guardian Scholars is a University-sponsored, student support service for Ball State students who experienced foster care. Within the Guardian Scholars, students are given access to holistic support that is designed to remove barriers to access and promote personal agency, dignity and belonging. Research has found such programs to increase graduation outcomes for foster alumni by 33% over their non-participating peers. Advocating for vulnerable students within the University and in the broader community is one of Bria’s great joys!
