The League of Women Voters of Muncie-Delaware County and the American Association of University Women Muncie Branch will co-sponsor the showing of a documentary about the need for everyone to know math. It is called “Counted Out – Math Is Power.”

Parents of school-aged children, grandparents, students, teachers, school board members, school administrators and public officials are encouraged to attend the event.

The program will include a brief introduction by Andrew Gatza, an associate professor of math at Ball State University and a former public school math teacher. He also is the co-founder and co-director of Ball State’s Young mathematician’s X-Ploration Summer Camp. In addition, Gatza and some of his colleagues will remain after the showing of the documentary to meet individually or in small groups with attendees who might have questions and comments.
