Cathy Fuentes-Rohwer, president of ICPE, the Indiana Coalition for Public Education, and Joel Hand, lobbyist for ICPE, will speak to the issues. For some people, it's all about Critical Race Theory or CRT. A recent article in Chalkbeat headlines an issue with "Indiana Lawmakers Want Parents to Review School Curriculum." This is only one of the possible bills to come forward in 2022, along with a ban limiting the way classrooms teach about racial equity. This is an important issue for information and discussion to get a better understanding of the definition of CRT. There will also be discussion on the expansion of public funding for charter schools, as well as on what "multiple measures" should be used to assess the effectiveness of schools and teachers.
