Working with our All IN for Democracy Coalition members, we are building momentum for the upcoming redistricting cycle in Indiana. On April 29 we will provide all participants an advocacy toolkit and resources to build community engagement.
We will also introduce a timeline for a series of citizen action events sponsored by the All IN 4 Democracy coalition to cover the months before the legislature will actually be able to draw their maps.
On April 29 we will introduce the newest tool for citizen action—map drawing. Ranjan Rohatgi, one of the technical experts from the Indiana Citizens Redistricting Commission, will conduct a live workshop on drawing maps using DISTRICTr.org/Indiana. Census data from 2011 is currently loaded so citizens can learn to use the software before the 2021 census data is loaded. The ICRC mapping competition is open to everyone in the state, so register for the April 29 introduction to this tool! Register here
